We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2025 Call for Proposals for the Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments (RISE) grants challenge.

The RISE grants challenge is a first-of-its-kind funding mechanism that supports projects addressing the links between gender-based violence (GBV) and environmental degradation.

The 2025 call for proposals will support projects that embed GBV risk mitigation into ongoing or existing environmental initiatives focused on marine and terrestrial Indigenous-managed lands, protected areas, and areas conserved through other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs).

Key Highlights:

  • Funding Available: Up to USD 600,000 in total; individual grants will range from USD 200,000 to 300,000, implemented over 12–18 months.
  • Thematic Focus: Proposals must embed GBV risk mitigation strategies into environmental work, emphasizing rights-based, gender-responsive, and locally led approaches.

    • Projects must be implemented in one of the 23 eligible countries, as listed in Annex 1 of the Call for Proposals document.
    • Applicants must partner with at least one organisation and a maximum of two organisations, and the consortium must include:
