This event will formally launch the IUCN Strategy on invasive alien species. It will set out the urgent need for a coordinated global response to IAS, recognising that meaningful and lasting progress can only be achieved through collective action across sectors, regions, and stakeholders. It will showcase how IUCN is advancing this agenda through a new Union-wide Strategy on IAS.
Participants will hear from IUCN on the vision, objectives, and strategic priorities of the new strategy, alongside contributions from partner organisations demonstrating actions already underway to address the threat posed by IAS. The event will also provide perspectives from IUCN Government, NGO, and IPO Members, along with the private sector on the challenges they are facing and how the strategy aligns with their ambitions and priorities to address IAS and strengthen the implementation of actions at sub-national, national, and regional scales.
