Ecocide Law and Financial Responsibility: Uniting for a Safe and Regenerative Future

Abstract

The implementation of ambitious goals and targets is a vital component of the worldwide response to the interlinked crises of climate, pollution and biodiversity loss. This session will discuss the intersection of ecocide law and financial responsibility in addressing global environmental challenges. We will explore:

  • Innovative approaches to promoting environmental regeneration and fostering accountability within the financial sector; and
  • How criminal law can act as an accelerator for behaviour change at a global financial level, increasing accountability and cooperation and encouraging urgent new thinking and innovation we know is needed to steer us towards a future where sustainable business, ecological balance and human well-being go hand in hand.
