IUCN Africa Conservation Forum Programme
Held every four years, the IUCN Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) is one of the leading platforms for sharing knowledge, building partnerships, and connecting key stakeholders in nature and biodiversity conservation from different regions.
In the past, the three IUCN sub-regions of Africa have each successfully organised Regional Conservation Forums under the auspices of Eastern and Southern Africa (ESARO), West and Central Africa (PACO) and Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (MED).
This year, inspired by the power of the first-ever IUCN Africa Protected Areas Congress held in July 2022, IUCN will host one Africa Conservation Forum (ACF) combining all three sub-regions. About 500 representatives of Union constituents, partners and supporters will gather for the five-day event in Nairobi, Kenya.
Co-organised with the National Committee of IUCN Members in Kenya in cooperation with the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, the ACF aims to evaluate conservation progress, revisit priority goals and propose strategic directions for Africa’s key stakeholders to best address challenges concerning the environment and biodiversity over the next 20 years.
*Please note the Youth Pre-Forum workshop has reached full in-person capacity and is now closed for registration. You are welcome to join the sessions virtually via this Zoom link.
